Uganda
Promise is working to improve wastes management in Kampala. Promise has assisted A Rocha Uganda and Samaritan’s Purse to facilitate a bid for some funding from the British Governments Department for International Development (DFID). The project has been shortlisted and we await with excitement a final announcement in March 2009. Promise will be helping to develop waste management consulting capacity across Africa. Promise is in discussions to assist a fascinating project in Swaziland - see link to Belumbu (www.belumbu.com) for more information. If you would like to be involved or donate to this not-for-profit work then let us know. We are also currently trying to create an African waste management web based network.
Promise has also sponsored 2 African trainees to attend a Waste Management Seminar in Mauritius in hopes of keeping the legacy of Promise active in their home villages. Eventually, these trainees will join Promise Consulting, acting as Associate Consultants.
